ESODI is an interactive map created on the basis of 2,600 testimonies collected by the Medici per i Diritti Umani Rights (Medu – Doctors for Human Rights) in almost four years (2014-2017), more than half of which in 2017. The interactive map—enriched with video testimonies, graphs and statistics—tells in the most simple and detailed way the routes faced by migrants from sub-Saharan Africa to Italy, the difficulties, violence, tragedies and hopes through the voices of the protagonists.
A portal in three languages (English, French, Arabic) dedicated to migration issues, with the collaboration of three major European media—France Médias Monde, Deutsche Welle and ANSA—co-financed by the European Union.
G7 Health, which ended today in Milan, might be an opportunity to make a difference for the Italian presidency. While its political intentions are appreciable, the declaration does not require the commitment of the G7 countries to concrete and quantifiable financial investments and the implementation of an operational action plan that guarantees the implementation of all the initiatives reported. Climate change, women's health, resistance to antibiotics were the main themes of the Milan summit.
